Penquite is located on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor, just below Caradon Hill, from the top of which you can see the sea 8 miles to the south and Dartmoor to the east.
The map to the right shows our ten acres with their old field names.
Caradon Hill is the site of stone age settlements and has been inhabited for thousands of years.
The Caradon mining district, on Bodmin Moor, a mile up the road from us, is now a listed World Heritage Site. You can click on the links to learn more about the history of the house and the area, further information on the World Heritage sites in Cornwall, and interesting places nearby to visit.
